Misfortune happens to all in life. I think one's perception of how much depends on one's self-image and attitude. Those with more confidence and less ridged expectations see less not more misfortune. Those with image and psychological issues see more, not less. Perception is everything.

Intelligence capacity perhaps matters but even smart and rich people have problems. They just tend to have different problems from different perspectives.

"Run faster" is the reality that matters. That which exists and matters beyond our perceptions.

I recently posted some adhoc advice that is refuted by one of fellow members. It goes...

Go to work. Stay out of debt. save/invest (wisely). Don't consume needlessly for personal fun. Locate yourself in advantageous areas. Change with change. Keep abreast and keep improving your knowledge. Trust yourself more than these people. That is the best way to prosper and live a good life.

None of this has time to feel sorry for one's position in some starting gate or victimhood.

There are extreme unfortunates. That is sad. But no-one is out of the race with time and circumstance.
